Your mind is a garden. Your thoughts are seeds in which you feed your garden. All in all, your mind is a garden of the thoughts in which you plant in it.
The quickest way to improve your mindset is to change the seeds that you plant into your garden. You can either grow flowers in the garden that is your mind, or you can grow weeds. Good thoughts will bring flowers, and thoughts that are anything but good will only bring weeds.
I never really thought about it this way before. I never took the time to compare every thought to a seed, but really, that’s what it is.
Everybody thinks many different thoughts. In fact, experts estimate that humans tend to have 60,000 to 80,000 different thoughts per day. Surely we can’t take the time to acknowledge every thought that passes through our minds, as that would be mentally exhausting. So instead, we only recognize the thoughts in which we repeatedly think about. As for the other thoughts that pass through our minds, they are stored in the subconscious mind.
Reflecting On Your Garden
Hypothetically speaking, let’s just say that you are a gardener. When you put any seed into the ground, you expect that seed to grow, right? Naturally.
But the thing is, you wouldn’t just go around planting any seed without first knowing what that seed was going to grow into, would you?
If you are going to take the time to plant a seed, you are at least going to pay attention to what you are planting. If you plant an apple seed, you are going to expect an apple tree. If you plant a rose seed, you are going to expect a rose bush. That’s because “what is sowed is received.”
If you wanted to have a beautiful garden, you would not go through planting seeds of things in which you don’t want. If you wanted to have a beautiful garden, you wouldn’t just plant the seeds and merely hope for the best.
A beautiful garden is one that is cared for, one that is groomed, and one that is fed with nourishment so that it can grow into an amazing and beautiful garden.
Feeding The Subconscious Mind
Here’s the thing about your mind. Your mind is like a garden. Your mind is a garden of the seeds in which you plant into it.
Unless you care for, groom, and feed your mind with positive thoughts, it is only going to accumulate negative much like a real garden would accumulate weeds. As time goes on, the weeds of your mind will only continue to grow until they completely overpower the beautiful flowers that are your positive thoughts.
It is up to every individual to nourish their mind, to care for their mind, and to groom their mind so that positive thoughts can grow.
Unless you go in and clean out the weeds of your past, the garden that is your mind will only continue to grow more and more weeds.
Everybody knows how challenging it is to de-weed a garden after just a few months. Can you imagine how challenging it would be to de-weed a garden after five, ten, or even twenty years of not being taken care of properly? It would be unimaginable.
That is why you need to start feeding your mind with positive seeds immediately. Every thought first starts out as a seed. The more you care for that seed and nourish it, the larger that seed will grow and the better the chances are of that thought blossoming into something truly beautiful.
Whether you know it or not, you are always giving your attention to something. Pay attention to the thoughts you are thinking about and grow more of the ones you want your garden to be filled with.
You are creating your own reality with the very thoughts you allow into your mind. The least you can do is be observant of what you are creating and the garden you are growing.
Repetition Is Key
Depending on the individual, it may take some time to change how your garden looks. Obviously it’s going to be easier to grow new thoughts in a garden that has been kept up and cared for. But in case it is challenging for you, just remember to never give up and lose sight of the beauty that has the potential to become.
Start small. Start by focusing on your thoughts. When any thoughts but positive ones come to mind, remind yourself that they do not accurately reflect you. Unless you choose to be, you are not those thoughts.
Also don’t be afraid to use affirmations. An affirmation is the action or process of affirming thoughts. When you use positive affirmations, you are affirming positive thoughts. If you allow negative affirmations or doubt to creep into your mind, you are affirming those thoughts and embedding them into your mind.
Lastly, try meditating. Take some time, give awareness to the thoughts you are thinking, and learn to slow your mind when it’s racing. The more stillness you are able to find, the more control you are going to have over the thoughts that pass through your mind.
Before You Go
You are the master of your thoughts. You are the one choosing the thoughts that you give precedence to, and you are the one who is painting your own reality. Fill your mind with good and positive thoughts so that they can grow and fill your mind.
Life is meant to be enjoyed. Don’t allow negative thoughts to stop you from making the most of your life. Prioritize positive thoughts, affirm positive thoughts, and grow positive thoughts in the garden of your mind.
