Its simple, you will never know if you never try
Trying new things in life is scary. Trust me, I know. Everyday I struggle with breaking habits and trying to get out of my comfort zone. Sometimes, I want to crawl out of my own skin when I think about change. Other times, I realize that I will be missing out on many new experiences if I don’t try and break out of my comfort zone. When it comes to change, I think that we can all agree on one thing. You will never know if you never try.
You might think that giving up is the worst thing in life. Unfortunately, it is not. Giving up without even trying is worse. Too often, we try to come up with excuses for why we don’t want to try new things. We say that we don’t have the money, we don’t have the time, or we don’t have the resources. We all know this isn’t really the truth. The truth is that we come up with these many excuses because we are scared. We are scared of change. We are scared of trying new things and creating new experiences. All of this because we will not have the amount of control that we desire.
Having control is not useful if it does not help you succeed in life. I mean we hear it day in and day out, if you want to be successful, you are going to have to take some risks. These risks might include becoming your own boss, or maybe asking your long-time crush out on a date. Whatever change you fear, just go for it. If you do not seize the opportunity, you are going to never know what might have been. Instead, you are going to be living your life wondering what could have been. Friends, life is way too short to care about failure. Plus, failure doesn’t come from being told no, failure comes from not even trying.
I am a big social media freak. I spend hours on YouTube or Bloglovin’. Those influencers that you and I look up to got to where they are because they tried. They took a chance on themselves and did something that they believed in. The big names like Casey Neistat, Gary Vaynerchuk, Sarah Centrella, they didn’t find their success by doing nothing. These individuals found success by taking a risk and trying something. They didn’t know that they would be as successful as they are, but they tried anyways. Imagine if they didn’t try. There would be no Gary Vee Audio Experience, or 368, or Hustle Believe Receive. That is a crazy though to think about, right?
My point is, you need to at least try new things in life. If you never try you’ll never know.
Maybe you want to start making YouTube videos. If so, then do it.
If you want to start blogging everyday, do it.
If you don’t try, you’ll never know what you are capable of achieving. Now it is not going to be easy. You will need to put in way more work than you are used to. I’m talking fourteen to sixteen hour days or working with little progress to show. But that is not the point. If you are truly passionate about something, you will find the time to make it work no matter how busy you are.
Imagine all of the people in the world that wanted to do something extraordinary in their lives but never did. There are millions of people who could be successful movie stars or best selling authors and living their best life. Instead, they are sitting and reading about others’ happiness and success. Why? Because they didn’t even take the first step and try.
Like I said, life is way too short not to try new things. Whether you are happy in life or could use some change, just do it. Honestly, you never know if you never try. Don’t go spending your life wondering what if, spend your life feeling what is. Live for the moments, live for the experiences, and live with the intent to make today a better day than yesterday.
