Some days it’s just hard to get out of bed. Days where no matter what you do, no matter how much caffeine you drink, and no matter how much you try to pump yourself up, you just want to do… nothing.
Well, today is one of those days. Ever since I have woken up, I have had absolutely zero motivation to do anything aside from watch TV and closing my eyes. My body is incredibly sore, my eyes are heavy, and my thoughts are blank. Even moving from my bed to my couch felt like I was climbing a mountain when the only thing that I was climbing was a flight of stairs.
To make matters worse, for some reason, when I have no motivation at all to do much of anything, I decided it would be a good idea to write a post on how to handle the days when you have no motivation. Trying to motivate myself right now just to write about having no motivation is incredibly difficult.
Okay, I am done complaining – at least for the time being.
Be Willing To Dig Deep
Here’s the thing about motivation, it’s not always going to be on standby. You aren’t going to be able to just snap your fingers to become motivated. There are going to be times where you want to place all of your goals on hold, times where you just want to lay around, and times where you may even want to call it quits.
The thing is, though, life doesn’t wait around for you, for me, or for anybody. As nice as that may seem, the world around us is always going to be moving. It is completely and entirely up to us to either move with the world and try to make the most out of the opportunities that are in front of us, or just fall back and accept mediocrity.
Now, I don’t know about you, but living a mediocre life is not the way that I want to spend my precious time here doing.
The Days When You Have No Motivation
For the days when you have no motivation, here’s what you do. You do it anyways. Whatever your goal is to achieve for the day, you do it anyway because you are never going to get this time back.
Whether it is going to the gym and working out, going for a run in preparation of a marathon, working on building your business, or any other goal that you have set, you do it anyway despite how motivated you are.
These are the days where you are going to have to fight through with everything that you have. These are the days where you just have to suck it up, put your head down, and work with every bit of energy that you have. Why? Because if you don’t you will only regret it. Unless you dig deep and keep moving forward with everything that you have, you will never achieve the goals that you set out for.
Those who push through any amount of adversity, and those who find the strength and willpower to overcome any of the excuses that pass through their mind will ultimately become those who will achieve their goals. Action is the only proven way to success. Unless you take action towards your goals, the success that you envision yourself having will only remain a thought trapped inside of your own mind.
Take Action Even If You Have No Motivation
Don’t have motivation? Who cares, you just got to do it anyways. Every second that you spend trying to find motivation is only adding to the time that it is going to take you to achieve your goals in the first place.
You need to remember that you are stronger than any one of your excuses, and remember that if you allow your excuses to control your life, then you aren’t going to get very far. Whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right.
Yes, there are going to be days when you have no motivation, but this is your life, and you are the only one who can control your own success. So whether or not you have motivation, do it anyways, and do it now.
