I have been getting into one of those moods lately. Not a bad mood by any means, but rather one in which I have been questioning the length of time that it’s going to take to achieve the goals that I have set for myself. One where I keep asking myself how much longer until I am living the life that I envision myself living?
What I am forgetting to realize, though, is that I am achieving my goals. Every single day, I am becoming a better version of the person that I want to be. Sure, I might not have achieved all of the goals that I have set for myself, but has anyone? Life is a process, and it’s a process in which we need to trust.
The process that I am referring to is the process of life. It is the process of learning from your mistakes and using what you have learned to grow from who you are now into who you want to be. And if I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to trust the process of life, because when mixed with hard work, it will lead to incredible results.
Trusting The Process of Life
How often do you find yourself jumping into a new project only to find yourself quitting shortly after? You have a desire to rust your way to the top only until quickly realize how difficult it is to get to the top, and how much time and energy you would have to devote to get there.
It’s okay, you are not alone. We are all guilty of this.
Honestly, though, this is what separates successful individuals from unsuccessful individuals. It’s what separates living the life of your dreams from living a mediocre and unfulfilling life. Successful people trust the process of life, whereas unsuccessful people quit before ever knowing what they could have achieved.
Too often we have the expectation that we are going to absolutely crush it with little to no effort. We get trapped in this game of rushing through life competing against those around us while expecting all of the good in life to come to us with the snap of our fingers.
Trust me, if this were the case, we would all be snapping our heads off.
But that’s just not the way it is. This mindset is why entrepreneurs fail, it’s why relationships fail, and ultimately, it’s why you will fail. You can’t be worrying about what others are doing, and you can’t expect life to be a breeze. Life is a process, and only when you trust the process of life will you then be rewarded with the life that you desire to live.
Ask yourself something. Would you really want it any other way? Would you really want the immediate success in life that so many of us seem to crave? If so, what would you do next? How would you spend the rest of your life?
I guess I can only speak for myself, but I would be incredibly bored. Like straight. up. bored. I already have a hard enough time sitting still for a few minutes at a time. I don’t know what I would possibly do with the rest of my life.
The Process of Life
Time to slow down a little bit…
Take a look into the lives of those who you admire the most. How did they get to where they are today? Did they get to where they are by becoming an overnight success? Or did they trust the process? The process of learning from their mistakes each and every day, and the process of growing from those mistakes?
That’s what it’s all about. That’s what success is about, that’s what happiness is about, and that’s what life is about. It’s about learning from your mistakes and growing from who you are now into who you want to be.
A Little Spark of Encouragement
I want you to realize something. I want you to realize that anything is possible. Whatever you want to achieve in life, just know that you can. But with that said, I also want you to know that it’s not going to be easy. If life was easy, again, we would all be snapping our fingers and bathing in our riches.
There are going to be times where you feel like giving up. Times when you question the process, and times where you are going to feel like a complete failure.
That doesn’t mean that you give up though. It means that you keep going with everything that you have, you overcome any and all obstacles that you face, and you trust the process.
If you give up, you will never know what you could have truly achieved. But if you trust the process of learning from your mistakes and growing from who you are now into who you want to be, only then will you succeed.
