Everything that you do throughout the day first starts with how you go about your mornings.
If you are happy today, it’s because you woke up on the right side of the bed. If you are had an amazing day at work, it’s because you had an amazing morning.
Whatever mood and things we prioritize in the morning, those will control our emotions and actions over the course of the day.
How To Set Yourself Up For A Good Day
Take a moment to reminisce on a day recently when you felt amazing. Not just for part of the day, but for the whole day. How did you feel in the morning? Were you energized? Were you feeling confident? What the mood that you had over the course of the day reflective of the one you woke up with?
Now, to the contrary, think about a day recently where nothing seemed to go right. As the day progressed, it only got harder and harder, and things kept piling up.
What was your mood like when you first woke up? Were you in a good mood? A bad mood? Did you get a good night’s sleep?
If I had to guess, I would say that you probably woke up feeling less than average, and when you went about your day, your mood continued to spiral.
Here’s the thing. We all control our moods. We control how we feel in the morning, and we also control what we do in the morning. It is the choices that we make that will determine what comes next. If you want to have a good day, then you need to start by having a good morning, and here’s how you can do so.
How To Create The Ultimate Morning Routine to Conquer Your Day
First of all, there is no one right or wrong way to spend your morning. Sorry, but what might work for someone else definitely isn’t going to work for everybody.
A good morning routine is one that is going to focus on you and your circumstances. Everybody has different things that help them to feel alive and energized in the morning. For example, some people may need a cup of coffee in order to get going. Others may not drink coffee, so they do something else.
The point is to know what works best for you and simply to do more of it. Start by being gracious to yourself, practicing positive self-talk, giving your mind some time to focus on the good in life. These are all things that can greatly improve your mornings.
Some things you should never do, however, are to repeatedly hit the snooze button, allow yourself to leave your bed feeling anything other than happiness and joy, or allowing yourself to be in a negative state of mind as you go throughout the day.
You want to have the best day ever each and every day, right? So then you need to start doing more things that are going to reflect that.
A Good Morning Routine Is Simple & Easy To Follow
It’s not meant to be a complicated process by any means. A good, quality morning routine should be something that is simple and enjoyable. To some extent, you already have a morning routine, so it shouldn’t be too challenging for you to expand on that routine and make it more fun and enjoyable.
Don’t be scared to expand. If you are comfortable with the morning routine that you currently have, expand on it a little bit and find new ways to bring joy and fulfillment to your mornings.
Just be cautious not to add too much, because again, a good morning routine is one that should be simple. The last thing you want to do is to feel overwhelmed by something that is meant to benefit you.
Create an Uplifting Environment
Imagine waking up and being thrown into a stressful environment. Do you think that’s going to benefit you in any way at all?
Nobody wants to wake up in an environment that is going to bring them stress and is going to leave them feeling overwhelmed. It’s not a good way to start your day, and you are going to find it more challenging to get into a positive state of mind.
Create a place that is going to bring out the best in you. Surround yourself with positive and uplifting quotes, phrases, and really anything that you enjoy. To conquer your day, you need to first start by surrounding yourself with all that is going to bring out the best in you.
Ideas To Help You Create The Ultimate Morning Routine to Conquer Your Day
There are many different ideas that you can implement into your morning routine that will help you to conquer the day. Here are just a few of the things that I do.
We all know that there are many benefits to exercising. Not just physical benefits, but mental ones as well. For me, one of the first things I do when I wake up is exercise. Not only do I get it out of the way, but by completing a challenging task right away in the morning, I am reinforcing the belief that there isn’t any challenge that I can’t overcome.
Everybody should practice gratitude. Not just because there is so much to be grateful for in life, but also because practicing gratitude will help put you into a positive state of mind.
Start by writing down 5 things you are grateful for every morning. Tell them to others, say them out loud, write them down in your journal, do whatever you can do to express gratitude. In doing so, your mood will instantly boost, and you are going to attract more of the things that you are grateful for.
This is something that I just started implementing into my morning routine, but it has honestly made such a difference in my mood and how I act throughout the day.
After I write down what I am grateful for, I immediately go into visualization. I have a list of my goals and dreams written down, and while I say them out loud, I also close my eyes and envision myself already having achieved my dreams. It’s almost as if that vision is real, and I immediately feel a sense of confidence and drive to make that vision my reality.
Another good thing to do in the morning is to write or journal. The reason for this is because we all have a tendency to hold onto our emotions until they boil over. But locking up your emotions isn’t going to do you any good. Release them. Let them out into the world. Get them out of your head.
For some, talking openly to others about how you are feeling may be a struggle. If so, take to writing. Be open with yourself, be honest, and get your thoughts out of your head and out into the world.
Reading is knowledge and knowledge is power. If you want to conquer the day, start by reading. According to Jim Kwik, “the average CEO is reading four to five books per month.” Everybody wonders what separates successful individuals from individuals who aren’t successful. Well, it starts with knowledge, and there is no better way to gain knowledge than to read.
Before You Go
In the end, know that nothing in your life will change until you change it. If you want to conquer your day, then you need to be willing to create the ultimate morning routine to conquer the day that is going to be most beneficial for you, and you need to take action and change your life.
A better day starts by building a better morning routine. Find one that works best for you and your life. There is no right or wrong way to start your morning, just make sure you are doing something you enjoy doing, and do more of it.
