“When one goes hunting for game, one selects hunting grounds where game is plentiful.” – Napolean Hill
Part of the reason that we experience failure in life is due to our inability to stand by our decisions. We make a decision, encounter the slightest obstacle, and immediately stray off course because we second guess ourselves.
We already know what it is that we need to do in order to achieve the things that we desire, but for some reason, we just don’t do it. We don’t move forward when we know that moving forward is the only direction that will lead us towards achieving the things that we desire and have not yet achieved.
The solution to all success isn’t a mystery. Success is achieved through hard work and dedication. But the reason that we don’t find success sooner in life is because we look and stay in all the wrong places.
Now, I have been known to be an incredibly indecisive person. I wouldn’t make decisions, or if I did, I would then change my mind numerous times before actually following through on something.
When I was focusing on changing my life and seeking out what it meant to be happy, I realized, though, that being as indecisive that I was, was only prolonging any progress towards finding happiness. So what I did, is I consumed myself with as much happiness and positivity as I possibly could.
For months I was reading uplifting blog post about how to change your life, how to overcome depression, tips to help with eating disorders. I would listen to podcasts that followed a similar message, and I would study those who I wanted to resemble the most. I was on the hunt for a happier life, and in order to achieve the happiness that I wanted to, then I needed to hunt the grounds where happiness was plentiful.
I hope that my thought process makes sense. The main point is that in order to achieve any desire, then you need to go where that desire is plentiful. You need to consume yourself with what you desire, you need to study the habits of those who have achieved similar desires, and you need to envision yourself already living the life that you desire. Only then will you start attracting the things that you truly desire.
I have noticed in my own life that this can be applied to any and all areas. It doesn’t matter if I desire happiness, success, wealth, relationships, confidence, or all of these combined, whatever it is that I am looking for, I need to go where that desire is plentiful.
Think of it like this. Let’s say that you want to find more happiness in your life. Odds are that if you are looking for happiness, you aren’t going to be spending your time with the most negative individuals that you know, are you?
If you want to start a successful business, then you probably aren’t going to take advice from someone who has never actually ran a business, are you?
If you need an extra boost of motivation, you probably aren’t going to seek it from someone who has difficulty completing even the smallest of tasks, are you?
Absolutely not. If you want to achieve any of the desires that you have not yet achieved, then you need to do something you aren’t doing. You need to hunt the grounds where your desires are plentiful, and you need to surround yourself with whatever it is that you want to become.
Twenty-five years. That’s how long it took me to figure this out. Maybe you are older or maybe you are younger. Age doesn’t matter. What does matter, is that you embrace this when you read it, and you quit wasting even just one more second of your life on the things that don’t bring value to you.
Everything that you want in life is already out there. No, your desires won’t be easy to achieve – they never are. But as long as you surround yourself with what you want to become, obsess over the things that you desire until they become your reality, and hun for the game you wish to live where that game is plentiful, then you will soon achieve it. You may not know exactly when you will achieve your desires, but the only way that you will ever know is if you keep moving towards them.
