The Key To A Living A Better Life: Stop Worrying and Start Living

Do you want to know one of the best pieces of advice that I have ever heard in my life? That advice, “Stop worrying and start living!”

How many times do you find yourself worrying about things in which you can’t control? Worrying to the point where it keeps you up wide awake at night and stops you from making the most out of the life and opportunities that you have right in front of you? Even though you don’t know what the outcome is going to be, you draw up a conclusion in your own mind that prevents you from even taking that opportunity.

If you are like me, then you probably know exactly what I am talking about.

The Truth About Worrying

I’ll admit it, there are nights where it takes me an hour or two to fall asleep because I am too busy worrying about things that I think I should be doing instead of going to sleep. All the meanwhile, though, I am doing neither. I am neither getting my beauty sleep nor am I doing the things that I think I should be doing instead of sleeping. I am simply worrying. All of my time and energy is being wasted worrying about things that I can’t control instead of doing something that will actually benefit me.

Here’s the truth about worrying, though, it is not going to get you anywhere in life. Worrying will only consume your life if you allow it to. It will only stop you from creating your own success and achieving the goals that you set for yourself if you allow it to paralyze you like most of us tend to do.

Any time that we worry, we only do so because of the thoughts that we come up within our minds. We draw up these conclusions for how we think certain situations are going to pan out without actually knowing what will happen. What we fail to realize, is that the likelihood of any of these situations turn out exactly how we envision are slim to none. So while we stop ourselves because we are worried, we are simultaneously stopping ourselves from living.

See where I’m going with this? Either way, when we worry, we aren’t living.

What Causes Us To Worry?

There are a few things that cause us to worry.

1. Uncertain Outcomes.

When we don’t know what is going to happen, we have a tendency to allow the worst possible outcome to take over our thoughts. We allow our fear of failure to completely take over and stop us from actually achieving anything significant.

2. The Judgement of Others

Along with our fear of uncertainty, we also worry about being judged by others. Let’s face it, we are people pleasers. So much so to the point where we are willing to give up on our own dreams just to be accepted by others.

Both of these circumstances not only stop us from living the one life that we were gifted with, but they also stop us from achieving any level of success.

Want To Create Your Own Success?

If you want to be successful, then you need to stop worrying about things that you can’t control and start living your life your own way. The more you worry about your fears, the more your fears will only haunt you. I get that it is a lot easier said than done (trust me, I really do), but you have to look at it like this. Everything that you want to achieve in life is going to require you to get over your fears. If you aren’t willing to get over your fears, then you won’t be successful.

It doesn’t matter what outcomes you predict in your head, and it doesn’t matter what other people think about you. If you want to be successful in your life, then you need to stop worrying and start living your life.

Challenge Yourself

Challenge yourself today and build off of the small things. Find something that isn’t going to cause you too much fear, but is also something that pushes you outside of your comfort zone. Then, just do it. No excuses, no hesitation, just take action. You will be surprised by the results and will slowly realize that once you stop worrying and start living, then nothing will be able to stand in your way.
