Challenging times? Yes. Impossible to overcome? No.
Challenging times are a part of life. They are not fun to think about or go through, but they are sometimes unavoidable.
You might be feeling exhausted and even powerless while trying to restore your energy, especially over the course of these last few months, but you need to remember that it happens to everyone. No matter what you are feeling right now, you aren’t alone.
It could be a difficult financial period, perhaps is it a health issue, loneliness, isolation, or just the sheer fact that you feel like a failure; but either way, just know that it’s temporary, and restoring energy is an important next step.
Everything in life comes and goes, including people and our emotions. Sometimes you just feel down, and that’s ok. It’s natural to feel down once in a while. But eventually, you just simply have to pick yourself back up and keep going. What other option is there?
It may be challenging to see that in the middle of your struggle, but take my word, it’s all temporary. I know how hard it can be in the midst of struggle, but I am also living proof that no struggle is too much to overcome.
When it’s hard to see the way out, remind yourself that you are the only one who is responsible for where you are at in life. If you don’t like where you are in life, you are the only one who can change those circumstances.
You can dwell and stay stuck on your difficulties and unfortunate situation, or you can help yourself getting better and restore your energy one step at a time. Perception is everything during challenging times, so do your best to focus on the good and see the good in every situation.
4 Tricks For Restoring Your Energy During Tough Times
How can you make tomorrow better than today?
You just need to stay positive and change your current daily routine bit by bit. The following four simple tricks will also help you find your light quickly and help you in restoring energy during tough times.
1. Be Imaginative
There is something about becoming an adult. It’s like once we reach a certain age, we forget how to be imaginative. We forget about the dreams we once had for ourselves and the direction we always wanted our life to go in. Heck, we tend to forget how to dream period.
Here’s the thing, if you are burned out with where your life currently sits, why not connect with your inner childish self and ask yourself who you want to become? The only difference between that younger self and your life today is that now you have the resources to become whoever you want to be. You are your own boss. If there’s something out there you have always wanted to do or become, now is your time.
We all used to have dreams. We all thought about these dreams while we were sitting in class bored. Do you remember how badly you wanted to capture those dreams? How badly you wanted to make them your reality? So do it. Be imaginative and make your dreams become your reality.
2. Change Your Surroundings
If you don’t like where you are in life, make a change. That means exercising and eating healthier if you don’t like your appearance. That means finding a new place to live if you don’t like the environment you are currently in. That means surrounding yourself with people who are going to pick you up when you are down if your friends and family aren’t supportive of you.
Whatever the case may be, if you aren’t happy with where you are in life, you need to be willing to make a change. Why spend any more time living a life short of the one you are deserving of?
If you don’t think this sounds realistic, well, neither does limiting yourself. No, it’s not going to be easy. Change is never easy. But you owe it to yourself. You owe it to yourself to live the best life possible. It’s out there waiting for you. All you have to do is go out and seek it!
3. Look Ahead At Your Older Self
Take a moment to think about this. Now, death is never enjoyable to envision, but imagine you are 80 years old, on your death bed, and you only have one day left to live.
When you look back, are you going to be proud of the life you lived, or are you going to wish you could have done more with the time you had on this earth?
Death is the only certainty in life. There will come a day when we all die, and unfortunately, far too many regret not living their life to the fullest and doing more of the things they wanted to do with the time they had.
If that sounds like you, let that image be your motivation, and let that image of your 80-year-old-self be the light you needed to help restore your energy. Everything you do from here on out, do it for that 80-year-old-you. Do it so that when you do die, you will have regretted nothing.
4. Be Happy For All That You Are
And all that you have accomplished.
Seriously, we don’t give ourselves enough credit for all that we have achieved over the course of our lives. As a whole, we have overcome far more challenges and much more adversity than any single challenge will ever amount to.
I know, when you are experiencing tough times, it’s difficult to focus on any of the positives in life or any of your strengths. It was for me as well! I guess the one thing that helped me more than others was constantly trying to go out of my way for others. There was something about putting a smile on somebody else’s face that helped to put a smile on mine. Eventually, I just grew to be happier and learned to love my life.
This doesn’t mean that I don’t still have bad days. But my bad days are nowhere near as bad as they once were, and no matter what challenge I may face, I remain hopeful and optimistic for the days ahead.
Before You Go
Life really is one big learning experience. Some days are going to bring more challenges than others. But no matter what happens, never give up on being the best you that you can be.
This is your one life to live. This is your chance to live whatever life you are willing to imagine and work towards. Make the most out of all of the opportunities life presents you with and hold absolutely nothing back!
