Positivity in equals positivity out
Are you struggling to find motivation and positivity in life? Trust me, I have been in that mindset many times before, and it is not a fun place to be. No matter how hard we try, we are always in a negative mood, and just lack motivation in general. Even getting out of bed and brushing our teeth can seem like a daunting task. Do you want to know what helped me to get over my negative mindset and see life for the blessing that it is? Focusing on positivity. That’s right, positivity in equals positivity out.
Wow, what a cliche and lame answer. I know that is most likely what you are thinking, but it is true. You remember that saying that you heard from your middle school health teacher “What you put into your body is what you get out.” I mean it’s a pretty easy concept to understand. If we put good and nutritious foods into our body, then our bodies are going to perform well. If we put bad foods into our body, then our performance is going to lack. Guess what, the same concept can be applied to your mindset as well.
The more that we focus our life around positivity, the happier and more positive we are going to be. The more that we focus our life around negativity, the more depressed and miserable that we are going to be. Take it from a person who has experienced many lows, change your mindset immediately. It took me five years of constant negativity to finally reach my breaking point. Why did I wait so long? Because I thought that having a positive mindset was too simple of an answer to solve my problems.
Seriously, this was my attitude. Instead of trying to develop a positive mindset, I looked for every excuse that I could find to remain the same negative person that I was. I didn’t have time, or I was too busy with other things, or I would start tomorrow. You name it, I used it as an excuse. I was just too lazy and too ignorant to even try to break my habits.
There were times when people would tell me to “just stay positive.” Whenever I heard this, for some reason it would only anger me more. All of the mental illnesses that I have suffered in life have been diagnosed by a doctor, and have been treated through medication. No, this is not something that I am bragging about, but this is where a lot of my ignorance stemmed from. I assumed that to change my mindset, the resolution had to be more complex than just being told to stay positive. I would need to be diagnosed by a doctor and prescribed medication to be more positive.
Needless to say, I never ended up seeing a doctor, and look at me now. Today, I am happier than I can ever remember myself being. I am shining brighter, and living my best life. All of this because I realized that whatever you put into your body is what you are going to get out. For me, that meant that positivity in equals positivity out.
Since I have focused on surrounding my life with positivity, my life has been seen in a whole new perspective. I listen to motivational and inspiration podcasts, read as many blogs as I possibly can, and simply try to cut all negativity out of my life. Any outlet that I can gain motivation and positivity from, I will find it and accept it. I have spent too much of my life focusing on the negatives to the point where I don’t ever want to be in that mindset anymore. That means surrounding myself with as much positivity as possible.
No matter what point of life you are at right now, don’t be ignorant and think that the solution to your problems has to be complex. Seriously, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist in order to change your life around. Sometimes, the best solutions can be found in the simplest of answers. Just keep an open mind and have a desire to love and better yourself. Find whatever outlet it is that makes you happy and stick with it. Remember that positivity in equals positivity out.
