Why our passion is everything
Sleep. One of my favorite things to do. Well, it used to be one of my favorite things, but now I just can’t seem to get enough of it. In yesterday’s post, I gave you a look into what a typical day in my life looks like. After working eight hours a day at my job, I come home and spend another six hours or so focusing on my blog. There is not much extra time to think, nevertheless extra time to get more sleep. Surprisingly, this is perfectly fine with me. Why? Because I am doing something that I love. Everyday that I blog, I am trying to inspire and motivate others to live their best life. I am following my passion becuase my passion is everything to me.
Trying to help others through daily blogging is not always an easy task, but like I said, it is my passion. Sure, there are times that I would like to just come home from work and relax, but then I remember that nobody is forcing me to do this. I simply want to do this because it is something that I love.
Do you remember growing up as a kid and wanting so badly to be a police officer, a firefighter, or a doctor? That is the feeling that I get when I think about motivating and inspiring others. I truly believe that this is my purpose in life. This is my calling, and this is what I am meant to do. If that means spending six or more hours a day writing, responding to comments, or trying to grow my brand, then that is what needs to be done. This isn’t work, this is me simply listening to my heart and doing something that I love.
What I am trying to say is that if you are truly passionate about something, then you are going to have to grind. You are the only person that can get it for yourself. It can be anything that you can think of. If your passion is to be a college professor, a professional athlete, or the owner of the world’s largest company, then go for it. There are going to be many challenges along the way, there always are. It doesn’t matter how big of an obstacle you might be facing, it only matters how you approach that obstacle. You are the only person that can prevent yourself from achieving your dreams, and never forget that.
Do yourself a favor right now and eliminate the excuses. Too many people say that they don’t have time or that they don’t have the resources. Personally, I think this is a bunch of you know what. If you want something bad enough, don’t just say you want it, prove that you want it. If that means putting your kids to bed at 9pm and writing your blog until 3am, do it. Get up at 5am and spend time building the company that you want so badly to start. If your dreams and passions mean enough to you, you will find the time and a way to accomplish them. You will stop at no ends until you have achieved them.
Daily blogging has changed and opened up my vision on life in more ways that I can express. Before getting too into my blog, I just did it as a challenge to myself. I thought it would be a cool idea to see if I can write something for 365 days, Now, I do it because I want to help others and the thought of doing so consumes my life. It is what I want to do in my life and it is my way of leaving a legacy.
I have made absolutely zero money from this blog. Would it be cool to make money by doing something that I love? Well sure, but it is not what is driving me. The thought of money is not what is keeping me up at night while I am writing my blog. The minute that money becomes the reason behind me pursuing my dreams, I am going to quit. It should never be the reason that you love something or the reason that you want to do something. You should want to follow your passions and dreams because they make you feel complete and because they bring you joy.
My best piece of advice to anyone would be to give it everything you have. You are never going to regret following your passion, but you will regret the time you wasted just thinking about them. It is never too late, so quit with the excuses and start today. All of those what if’s, they will become what is. So join me, like I am following my passion right now by trying to motivate and inspire others through my daily blog, challenge yourself and start chasing your passions today. Always remember that you are strong, and that you are in control of your own destiny.
