Only you can chase your dreams and make them a reality
If you are struggling to find some motivation to start your week off, let me help you. Get off your butt, do something beneficial for yourself, and chase your ambitions. Sorry, I didn’t mean to be so harsh, but let’s be serious. You need to find some motivation and go! Nobody on this planet is going to chase your dreams for you. We are all far too busy and stressed chasing dreams of our own. If you want to succeed, you need to realize that only you can chase your dreams.
This last weekend, I had the time of my life in Las Vegas. I left Minnesota on Thursday night extremely drained and just in need of a break. When I came back, I felt alive again. I felt refreshed, and ready to roll. After being too tired to think for the past week, I was once again able to find motivation and inspiration in my life. I don’t know why, but vacations always do this to me. When I come back from any vacation, all I want to do is work and chase my dreams.
I spent the entire flight home thinking about my dreams and how I am going to achieve them. Ultimately, I want to be my own boss. I want to work for myself, and do things that I am passionate about while still helping others. When I think about my dreams, I for some reason get scared. Scared because in the past, I have never really excelled in achieving things that I am passionate about. The truth is, it’s because I never gave my dreams the attention that they required to be achieved. Now I am finally mature enough to realize that I have every opportunity at the tips of my fingers, all I have to do is work. It’s honestly that simple.
My dream is to be a blogger. I want to focus on my personal website, but I also want to have a shared blog (ps. This is in the making). Blogging has quickly become one of my biggest passions. It has given me an outlet to express myself, while being a platform in which I can connect with others. I am able to tell my life story the way that I want to, and I am also able to connect with others who have similar stories and passions.
Just like anything worth having in life, success won’t come easy. When I am not typing my blog, I am constantly trying to think of meaningful ideas to write about. If I am not thinking of ideas, I am searching for other successful blogs for some tips and ideas to help me in growing mine. Heck, there are times where I am on the computer well into the morning hours trying to better my blog. All-in-all, I would say that I spend an average of five hours a day focusing on my blog. Five hours everyday on top of an eight hour work day, an hour spent commuting in my car, an hour working out, and spending time with my family and friends. This does not lead to a lot of free time.
If you want success in achieving your dreams, you need to learn to replace your free time with work. While free time might sound fun, it will only distance you from achieving your dreams. If you want to be a musician, you aren’t going to practice for an hour a day hoping that you are somehow going to become the best. If your dream is to be a doctor, you aren’t going to study for an hour a day and hope that’s good enough. No, you are going to lock yourself in the library and spend any free time studying so that you can achieve your dreams.
It might not sound like fun, but if you want to achieve your dreams, you better get used to working hard. If you are not putting in the effort to follow your dreams, other people will be. There is always someone out there who is going to make the most out of opportunity. Let that someone be you. Work harder than you ever have before, be true to yourself, and follow your dreams. Once you do this, they dreams that you were once chasing will become a reality.
