Daily Blog #336
A few months ago I created a 90-day plan for myself. Already three months into the new year, and that 90 days has already come to an end.
While there have been a few lows like losing two dogs in the span of two days, there have also been many highs. Every day I am loving the life that I am living more and more, and every day I am inching closer towards living the life that I dream of living. A large part of my success and happiness has stemmed from the fact that I started the new year with a clear focus.
On January 1st, 2019 I set five goals for myself. I didn’t want them to be New Year’s resolutions, but rather goals that I wanted to achieve in 90 days.
My 90-Day Goals
1. 50,000 blog views.
I started the year at 24,000 views on my daily blog. While 24,000 is a tremendous amount of views, it also took me seven months to get there. I wanted to set a goal for myself to achieve more views in less than half of the time. I wanted to gain 26,000 more blog views in just 90 days.
2. 500 followers on Medium.
Medium is a blogging platform where bloggers have the opportunity of getting paid for their writing. After starting the year with just over 200 followers, I set a goal of gaining essentially 100 followers per month. And while I do make a few dollars from Medium, the majority of the money that I make is donated to Mental Health America.
3. Give back and do more random acts of kindness.
This is pretty self-explanatory. I wanted to make it a focus of mine to give back to others and to go out of my way to try and make somebody else’s day. Small things like buying coffee for a stranger, to even holding the door open for someone. Just things to put a smile on the faces of others.
4. Earn income from my passions.
Blogging, podcasting, maybe even… coaching? Alright, I’m not going to get ahead of myself too quickly. But I did want to start making money. Not to show it off, but as a way to show myself that I can actually do this.
5. Develop greater levels of self-belief.
The last year has been the best year of my life, but I wanted more. I wanted to start loving myself more, I wanted to start loving my life more, and I wanted to gain more confidence in myself to the point where I am willing to take more risks in life.
After 90 Days
So how did I finish with each of these goals?
1. 50,000 blog views.
After three more months of blogging every single day and giving it my all, I finished with 45,483 total blog views. Is it the 50,000 that I was reaching for? No. But I am still damn proud of myself. I had more than 20,000 views on my blog over the course of the last three months. That is something to be proud of.
2. 500 followers on Medium.
As of today, March 31st, I have 530 followers on Medium. A few of my stories have been curated, and I have been published in some of the largest publications on Medium.
3. Give back and do more random acts of kindness.
While I have definitely increased the amount that I am giving back, I still want to give back even more. I have achieved this goal, but I still want it to be a main focus in my life to do more of. My life is nothing short of a blessing, and I want others to feel that way as well.
4. Earn income from my passions.
While I still have yet to earn money through podcasting, I have made roughly $200 from Medium. It’s nothing that is going to provide me a life of luxury or anything, especially being that a large portion of it is being donated, but it is something that I am still proud of. It is reinforcing the belief that I can actually make money from the things that I am passionate about.
5. Develop greater levels of self-belief.
I can honestly say that each and every single day of my life is only getting better. Even days where I experience obstacles or challenges are still good days. Instead of allowing difficulties stop me in life or to drag me down, I now see them as learning opportunities or a way to prove my own doubt wrong. I know what I am capable of achieving, and I have never believed in myself more than I do now.
Conclusion.
While the 90 days has come to an end, I am not finished. I am not finished pushing myself, I am not finished becoming the best person that I can be, and I am not finished working towards my goals. I have made more progress over the last 90 days than I ever thought possible, and I now know that I can accomplish anything that I set my mind to.
The last 90 days have been the best of my life, and it’s because I set meaningful intentions for myself. Now, it’s time to repeat the process, strive for even bigger and better goals, and love the life that I am living even more than I am right now.
