Happy Mother’s Day
Dear Mom,
I know that you know that I love you very much, but I don’t think that you truly understand how much you mean to me. You are my inspiration, role model, and my hero. Aside from these and more importantly, you are my best friend. I know I tell you this often, but not nearly the amount you deserve, I love you and I am so blessed to have you as my mom.
No matter what stage I have been at in my life, you have always been there and you have always supported me 100% of the way. From sports, to school events, you always put my needs before your own needs even when I didn’t recognize it or give you the credit that you always deserved. It wasn’t always easy as I had my fair share of moments being stubborn and ungrateful, but you never stopped giving me more than I needed.
Three years ago, my life would forever change but my relationship with you would only grow. When blood clots almost took your life, I prayed to God everyday that you get healthy. If I ever lost you or Dad, I do not know if I could carry on. All of those times that I drove home for school to “take care” or you, it wasn’t really for you, it was for me (being selfish again). I never knew what was going to happen and so I wanted to spend as much time with you as humanly possible.
Though both of us were not in the best of spots in life, there is one plus that came from this. Our relationship grew by 1082%. We have been best friends since I can remember, but this is really when our relationship grew. Now, we do everything together and tell each other everything in life. The fact that I am able to reflect and cherish the many memories that we have together is something that most men my age wish for and would be so blessed to have.
So on your day, I just want to remind you how much you truly mean to me. From the bad times to the highest of times, you have always been there for me and have never stopped loving me. I hope that I can be half of the parent that you and Dad are because if I can, I will still be an amazing parent. Words truly can’t describe how much you mean to me and how much I love you. You truly are the most important lady in my life and I am so grateful to call you my mom. I love you, Mom.
Love Mikey
