Very few individuals can say that they made an astronomical impact on the world of social media. Even fewer of these individuals can say that they did so from within the walls of their dorm room.

Mark Zuckerberg isn’t most individuals though.

Zuckerberg and four of his classmates launched Facebook on February 4th, 2004 from their dorm room at Harvard University. Here we are a mere fifteen years later, and Facebook now has a market cap of $547 billion.

Despite there being many fallouts, setbacks, and scandals, Zuckerberg has remained as the CEO of Facebook, which has also made him one of the wealthiest individuals on the planet as he is now worth more than $72 billion. Not bad for a kid from White Plains, New York.

So how did Zuckerberg get to where he is at today? What are some daily habits that Mark Zuckerberg swears by? Here is a look inside Mark Zuckerberg’s morning routine and a typical day in the life of the Facebook CEO.

A Look Inside Mark Zuckerberg’s Morning Routine

After waking up at 8 a.m., Zuckerberg is like most individuals nowadays in the sense that he immediately turns to his phone where he will check Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp. Most CEO’s check up on their company first thing in the morning anyhow, but it helps that Zuckerberg gets to knock out two birds with one stone being that he built a social media platform.

Zuckerberg’s Working Routine

Once he is done checking his morning updates, Zuckerberg will hit the gym and get a good workout in. In addition to his daily weight training, Zuckerberg will also go for runs three times per week where his favorite running partner is said to be his mop dog, Beast.

Keeping It Simple

Having completed his run, Zuckerberg will clean up and get ready for the day. Having built a very complex social media platform, though, Zuckerberg likes to keep the rest of his life pretty simple. He eats whatever he feels like for breakfast, and when it comes to attire, Zuckerberg is almost always in jeans, a gray t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers. He doesn’t like to waste time overthinking small decisions in his life, and if you ask me, this is a pretty good mindset to have.

A Typical Work-Week

When it comes time to work, Zuckerberg is said to work anywhere between 50-60 hours per week. It may not be the 80+ hours that Elon Musk works in a week, but it is more than the 40 hours Jeff Bezos works in a week.

Family First

Despite spending a good amount of time in the office, Zuckerberg is also very much a family man. After marrying Priscilla Chan, who is Chinese, Zuckerberg will spend time learning Mandarin along with his two daughters. He is also big into taking nice long vacations with his family and also challenges himself to read a new book once every two weeks to help find a good work/life balance.

A Long Day’s Work

At the end of the day when his work is all said and done, Zuckerberg will make sure that he gets home in time to tuck his daughters into bed with a Jewish prayer, the “Mi Shebeirach.”

Overall Thoughts on Zuckerberg’s Day

Overall, I have to say that I am very impressed with Zuckerberg’s day-to-day life. What I really like is the fact that despite being the CEO of one of the largest companies in the world, Zuckerberg is still very much a family man. From somebody who believes that family is everything, this is a habit of his that I very much admire.

It’s also important to start your day off by doing what’s important to you. While Zuckerberg does check Facebook, he also makes sure to incorporate some exercise and family time into his daily life. No matter how successful you are in your life, it’s always a good idea to start your day off with what’s most important to you, and that’s something that Zuckerberg does very well.
