All around the world, there are people who are hiding their greatness, people who are hiding the strengths that they possess, and people who are preventing themselves from living a life in which they want to be living.
The reasonings? Well, there are two main reasons.
The first being because they are scared. They are allowing their fears to conquer their thoughts and completely disregard all that they are actually capable of achieving.
What if I make a mistake?
What if I don’t have what it takes to achieve the goals that I have set for myself?
What if I am just wasting my time?
The second reason is because humans have a tendency to be people-pleasers and strive to be accepted more by others than themselves.
What will my family and friends think of me if I fail?
What if they think my idea is stupid?
What will they think of me if I give up or make mistakes?
But the beautiful thing about life is that you are going to make mistakes. Many of them in fact. You are going to experience doubts. There are going to be some people who aren’t always going to agree with you. There are also going to be times where you question the process and wonder if you are, in fact, just wasting your time.
Not everyone will understand your journey or what it is that you are trying to get out of life, and that’s completely fine. I know that it’s a lot easier said than done, but don’t worry about what others think. Just be true to yourself and carry on no matter what obstacles you face.
Not Everyone Will Understand Your Journey
The most important thing that you have to remember about your life is that it is yours to live. Not your friends, not your parents, not your boss’s life to live, but yours. Everybody else already has their own life to live, so let them live theirs and you live yours.
People aren’t always going to agree with you or the choices you make. They aren’t going to understand why you do some of the things that you do, or why you want to live the life that you do.
But do you always understand everything about others? No, it’s impossible to go through life without occasionally being misunderstood or judged by others.
While you can control what you say and how you act, you cannot control how others think of you or interpret the choices you make. No matter how much you try to explain yourself to others, there are going to be some who just don’t “get it”.
Just Be True To Yourself and Carry On
Not to get all philosophical or anything, but the life that you are living is the only one that you get to live. You and I are going to be here for what is averaged out to be 80 years. Maybe that time is cut short, or maybe we exceed such time. We will simply never know.
Do you really want to waste your time trying to be somebody you’re not just to please those around you? Those who don’t think about you as much as you think about them? Why allow others to control the one life that you get to live?
The life that you are living is your journey. Whatever it is that you want to create in this one life, it is up to you to do so. As long as you are happy, as long as you are following the dreams that you have set for yourself, and as long as you feel as if you are living your life to the absolute fullest, that’s all that truly matters.
Know what it is that you want to achieve, write down your goals and plaster them all around you, and never stop working towards being the individual that you envision yourself to be.
Success Is Different For Everyone
“Failure is nothing but success trying to be born in a bigger way. Most seeming failures are just installments towards victory.” – Catherine Ponder
Whatever journey you seek to create, go out and create it. If you want to travel across the world and spend a few days in every country, why not do it? If you have a business idea that you think would be a gold mine, why not start it? If there is a cause that you believe in wholeheartedly, why not stand up for it?
Your life is your journey to live. Not everyone will understand your journey or why you do some of the things that you do, but success isn’t defined by how others see you, success is defined by how you see yourself.
Just be true to yourself and carry on no matter what journey you are on or what obstacles stand in your way. If you can remain true to yourself, you will generate endless amounts of success within your life.
