Is it possible to train your subconscious mind for success? If so, how do you do it and where do you begin?
How To Train Your Subconscious Mind For Success
This is something that I have been trying to master while being quarantined. I want to come out of this with a stronger mindset and an attitude that is going to drive me towards my goals.
But how do you train your subconscious mind for success?
If you look at any successful individual, one similarity that they all have in common is a strong mindset. Their physical capabilities are going to be different. They are going to think differently. But one thing that they all share is the belief that they have in themselves.
If you want to achieve success, you need to believe in yourself with everything that you have. If you don’t believe in yourself and all that you are capable of achieving, how can you expect others to do so?
You don’t need to be born into wealth or success in order to find wealth and success in your life. You don’t need to go to a prestigious Ivy League school to be valuable. History has constantly repeated itself in showing us that if we want to achieve success, the only way of doing so is by believing in ourselves.
That self-belief that I am talking about, that all starts in the subconscious mind.
What Is Your Subconscious Mind?
Your subconscious mind is the part of the brain that stores EVERYTHING. It stores your beliefs, your past experiences, any event that has occurred over the course of your life, and your skills.
Basically everything that you have ever done, every thought that you have ever thought, and everything that you have ever seen is stored in your subconscious mind.
Your subconscious mind is also your guiding system. It’s the part of the brain that is going to tell you to take more risks or to stop taking so many. Imagine that little internal voice of reason that you often hear going back and forth regarding any decision you make… that’s your subconscious mind.
Your mind is capable of so much more than you give it credit for. It can help you to overcome any obstacle in life, help you to achieve the success that you envision for yourself, or it can do the exact opposite and hold you back.
In being the most powerful tool that you have at your disposal, it’s important to have your subconscious mind on your side every step of the way. But unfortunately, many people don’t. Many people allow their subconscious minds to be their greatest enemies instead of their greatest strengths.
That’s why I want to share with you three tips that I am using on a daily basis that are helping me to strengthen my subconscious mind, and three tips that I think are going to help you to train your subconscious mind for success as well.
How To Train Your Subconscious Mind For Success
Exercise 1: Envision Yourself Achieving Your Goals
The best way to train your subconscious mind for success is to start each day by envisioning your goals.
I know, you have been told this before and probably sick and tired of hearing it, but guess what… the reason you’re constantly told to do this over and over again is because it works!
Your subconscious mind can’t tell the difference between what is your reality and what is a mental image that you are drawing up. It only recognizes the picture you feed it. So when you take the time to envision yourself successfully achieving your goals, your subconscious mind is going to hold onto that image as though it is already your reality. As you go through your day, your subconscious mind is going to support the actions needed in order to maintain that mental image that you recently fed it.
That’s why those who envision their goals achieve them. It’s because when you envision, your mind will start to influence the actions needed to achieve your goals.
Exercise 2: Use Positive and Uplifting Affirmations
As I mentioned, your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between the image you draw up in your mind and what is actually reality. It also doesn’t know the difference between reality and the words you feed it.
If you constantly call yourself a failure or doubt your every move, your subconscious mind is going to believe that despite that not being the truth. It is going to constantly limit you all because you fed it false and incorrect information.
The truth of the matter is that we can all achieve anything and everything we set our minds to. Make your subconscious mind your best friend instead of your worst enemy. Use positive affirmations to lift yourself up so that your mind can hold onto those thoughts.
Would you let others talk to you the way you talk to yourself? If not, then change your thoughts and change how you speak to yourself. You are you and that is always going to be your greatest strength. Be kind to yourself, affirm your strengths, and stay positive. If you do so, your thoughts and actions will follow.
Exercise 3: Be Open and Be Aware of Your Thoughts
In order to train your subconscious mind for success, you need to learn to be aware of the thoughts in which you are thinking and open to a wide array of possibilities.
At first, it’s going to be incredibly challenging. This is where meditation or even just being mindful can be incredibly beneficial.
Learn to slow down, ask yourself “What thoughts am I currently thinking? Are the thoughts that I am thinking align with the goals and vision I have for myself?”
If not, slow it down. Be one with your thoughts. Make sure your thoughts align with your goals and desires so that they can help you achieve the things that you want to achieve instead of pushing you away from them.
Also, be open to new thoughts and possibilities. We don’t have all the answers to life, nor do we always have the right answers.
Had you told me two years ago that I was going to be writing about meditation and the power of the mind, I would have thought you were crazy. But with an open mind, I have continued to learn and developed/expanded my beliefs. That’s what life is all about – developing and expanding in any and every way.
Before You Go
Your mind is your greatest asset. Sure, it can sometimes be a scary place to live, but it will only be a scary place if you make it so. Make it a positive and enjoyable place to be.
Be careful about what you put into your mind so that it can help you achieve the life you have always dreamed of living. Believe in yourself with everything you have, treat yourself as your own best friend, and train your subconscious mind for success. Whether you think you can or can’t – you’re right.
