What is your favorite part of life?
I know it might seem like a broad question to ask, but have you ever taken a second to slow down and truly think about it? Out of all of the different situations and emotions that we experience, what is your favorite?
All too often we fly through life at a lightning-quick speed – so much so that we rarely take the time to slow down and embrace life for the true blessing that it is. If we aren’t cherishing our lives and living life to the fullest, what are we doing then?
For some, living life to the fullest may seem like a scary thought. Either you don’t know what that vision looks like, or you may be hindered by our fears.
In retrospect, though, life is too short to feel that way. Life is too short to not know what it is that you want, and life is far too short to be controlled by your fears. This is our one life to live and we all need to be doing everything in our power to make the most out of it.
You might sometimes ask yourself why are you not living your life as others do? Why haven’t you found the happiness, success, riches, or fulfillment that others have?
The answer is this – others have found their desirable lives because they try their best to do more of the things that make them happy.
Nobody has life figured out, and life doesn’t favor others more than you. Others are just brave enough to smile, to cherish life, to keep moving forward despite the circumstances they may face, and to live life to the fullest.
How to Cherish Your Life and Live Life to the Fullest
If they can do it, why can’t you do the same?
If you want to start creating a better life for yourself, then here are 8 tips that will help you to cherish your life and live life to the fullest.
1. Take Care of Yourself
You are you and that is your greatest strength. If you are not taking care of yourself, you are never going to be able to live your life to the fullest.
This means taking care of yourself both mentally and physically. It means taking care of your mind just as much as you take care of your body. It means feeding your mind with positive fuel just as much as you feed your body with healthy food. It means finding new ways to grow your mind as you find new ways to grow your body.
Body and mind go hand-in-hand. In order to fully cherish your life and live life to the fullest, you need to equally take care of both.
2. Be True to Who YOU Are
Notice how the title says to cherish YOUR life? That’s because this is YOUR life to live and YOUR life to make the most out of. It doesn’t matter what anybody else tells you, as long as you are not harming others, you need to be true to who YOU are and to make the most out of the one life that YOU get to live.
Life is a blessing. It is a blessing that could be taken from us at any given moment. Others have their own lives to live, don’t let them live yours.
3. Do More of What You Love
Whether it’s your job, or how you choose to spend your spare time, do more of what you love. If you do not love what you are doing, find something that you do love.
I get it, there are some obligations that we all have such as bills that we don’t love to pay. But, the bills that we paying are a direct reflection of the lifestyle that we choose to live. It is that lifestyle that brings some amounts of happiness and joy to our lives.
If you don’t like paying bills, find other cheaper ways to cherish your life and live life to the fullest. You don’t need money to live a good life.
Life is too short to spend it doing things you don’t like doing. Replace what you don’t like with things that you do like and make the most out of the life you have in front of you.
4. Surround Yourself With Like-Minded Others
We are social beings. We thrive off of each other and become a direct reflection of those who we surround ourselves with the most.
To live life to the fullest and to truly cherish your life, you need to surround yourself with those who are going to pick you up when you are feeling down, those who are going to challenge you to be your best self, and those who want to live a similar life as you do. If you surround yourself with those who don’t share similar beliefs or with those whose beliefs are opposite to yours, you are going to have a difficult time staying focused and pursuing the dreams you have for yourself.
5. Let Go of Your Flaws
Everybody has flaws and everybody makes mistakes. If you are not making mistakes on a daily basis, then you simply aren’t trying hard enough.
Mistakes don’t mean that you have failed. The only time you will ever fail is when you give up. Mistakes simply mean that you have the confidence to challenge yourself, to push past your comfort zone, and that you are willing to learn so that you can ultimately improve on the individual that you are.
Learn from your mistakes and let go of them. Don’t look back on your past because you aren’t going that way.
6. Take Risks on Yourself
All good things first come from taking chances and risks. Everything that you want in life is already out there, all you have to do is be willing to believe in yourself and at least give yourself the opportunity to go out there and find it.
Think about all of the times where you have stopped yourself from taking risks because you wanted to feel safe. At the end of your life, are you going to wish you would have played it safe more often, or are you going to wish that you would have taken more chances on yourself with the time that you had?
Don’t allow yourself to get to the end of life wishing you would have done more. Do more right now, cherish your life for all that it’s worth, and live life to the fullest.
7. Be Thankful
The best way to love your life is to express gratitude and to be thankful for all that you have instead of focusing on the things you don’t have. Life isn’t about having everything, it’s about appreciating what you already have. The more you appreciate what you have, the more you will receive the things that you desire the most. It’s that simple.
Like attracts like. When you focus on the good in life and express gratitude for all of the good that already fills your life, the more of it you will receive
8. Make the World a Better Place
There are few greater feelings than knowing you are helping to make the world a better place. Whether it is donating old belongings, donating your time to your community, committing small and random acts of kindness, there is just something about helping others that is incredibly fulfilling.
Isn’t that the point of life? To do more of what makes you whole? If you get fulfillment from helping to make the world a better place for all (which we all do), then why not do more of it? Why not give back to others, help others, and support others? Not only will it help you to feel fulfillment, but it will also help you see how blessed you are and why you have so much to cherish.
Before You Go
Life is full of ups and downs. There are going to be days ahead where you are going to struggle more than others. But don’t let them define who you are as a person or the quality of the life you live.
Life is made up of all the little moments that we experience. Go out, experience more of these moments, cherish every passing moment for the blessing that it is, and live your life to the fullest.
