Daily Blog #237
What is the one thing that is stopping you from accomplishing your dreams? Is it the lack of money? Is it the lack of resources? Or is it the overall lack of spare time that you have? What if I told you that all of these things listed above are just excuses. That’s right, excuses that you and I both make on a daily basis for why we are not actively pursuing our dreams. The real reason that we don’t chase our dreams in life – because we are scared.
There, I said it. I am one of those who is scared of failure. As positive of a person as I try to be, I still do often times find myself worrying about the things that could go wrong instead of the things that could go right. But the truth is, if you or I want to achieve our dreams in, then we first need to believe in ourselves, and realize that whatever we want to accomplish, it can be done.
It is those who believe in themselves that oftentimes find success, and those who quit believing in themselves that settle for a life of being average. And just because you believe in yourself does not mean that it is going to be easy. Those who are rewarded with success get to where they are because time they failed, they got right back up. They might have lost the battle, but they were not going to lose the war.
WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME
I first have to give a shout out to Tim Ferris. I know, I know, I have already told you about this, but as a person who has not read a book in over three years (this is not an exaggeration), I seriously can’t recommend his book The Four-Hour Workweek enough. I don’t remember the last time that I read over twenty pages in a day, nevertheless over three or four hundred within the span of a week.
But it was something that Tim said in the book that really got me thinking. When talking about his life and what he wanted to accomplish, he realized that nothing was impossible. If it had been done before, than anybody can do it again. And even if something had not been done before, why not be the first one to do it.
For me personally, there are very few things that I would rather do in my life than to spread positivity, encouragement, motivation, inspiration, and a message of hope throughout the world. Some may say that I am full of it, but it’s true. And one way that I am following my dreams is by blogging. But with many other bloggers out there, I often find myself feeling discouraged. How will I ever grow a blog in a world that is filled with millions of other blogs?
That’s just it. That exact thought is something that Tim outlines so well in his book. No matter what it is, it can be done. If I want to have a successful blog, guess what! It can be done. If I want to become a professional athlete, guess what! It can be done. This one would be exceptionally challenging for me, but it can still be done. If I want to start a successful business, guess what! It can be done.
How do I know all of this? Because all of these things have been accomplished before. Hundreds of thousands of other individuals have started successful blogs, have become professional athletes, have become successful business owners, and have become any other dreams that you can think of. There is no person that is superior to you or I. What success boils down to, is how hard we are willing to work, and how many times we are willing to fail in order to achieve our dreams.
THE BIG PICTURE
Ah, my favorite part… what is the purpose of me writing this.
See, when it comes to pursuing our dreams, we oftentimes sell ourselves short. We are all guilty of it. It seems that when we experience one minor hiccup, we are ready to give up on ourselves just like that. Ask yourself, do you really think that you can achieve your dreams by giving up? I’m going to take a wild guess and say no.
The point that I am trying to make is that no matter what it is that you want to accomplish in life, you can achieve it. That’s right, anything and everything that you dream of achieving, you can achieve it. You just need to believe in yourself, and remember that anything is possible. Follow your dreams, and live the life that you have always dreamed of living.
