Daily Blog #244
Before I dive deep into this topic, please know that I am not complaining in anyway at all. While daily blogging may be difficult, it is something that I am passionate about, and it is something that I enjoy. Is it difficult? Yes. But it is something that I love to do, which is why I decide to do it.
I realize that this is a different style post than what I normally share. But my goal in writing this is to show you that you can achieve anything that you want to achieve. Chasing your dreams is not always going to be easy, but if they mean enough to you, then you will stop at nothing until you achieve them. Your dreams are going to require time, commitment, and dedication. But if you truly want them badly enough, then you will stop at nothing until you achieve them.
WHY I BLOG DAILY
My motivation behind blogging on a daily basis is to make a greater impact in the world. I want to inspire others to live their best life possible through sharing stories about my life, my trials, my errors, and my progressions.
You have experienced challenges in life, and I have experienced challenges in life. But our struggles do not define us unless we allow them to. We all have the opportunity to fulfill all of our dreams in life, and I not only want to turn my dreams into a reality, but I also want to help your turn your dreams into a reality as well.
Alright, with all of that said, here are some of the things that I struggle with when it comes to blogging daily.
I have never really been good at following through with the things that I say I am going to do. Whether it is hanging out with friends, being to places at a certain time, or following any of the individual goals that I set for myself, there has always been a part of me that just does things when I want to do them. Everything in my life was only about me.
One of the reasons that I decided to create a blog was because I wanted others to hold me accountable. I wanted to put it out there to the entire world that I was going to be doing something that I have never done before, and I wanted to feel obligated to actually do what it is that I said I was going to be doing for a change.
#2: AMOUNT OF TIME
Not going to lie, when I first started writing and sharing my life, I had no idea the time commitment that it would require. I would say that on average, I spend an hour writing each post, an hour publishing it to the various sites that I share it on, and probably another hour sharing it on social media throughout the course of the next few days.
This is three hours per day, while working eight hours every single day, driving another two hours to and from work, and while trying to keep up with a somewhat decent social life. Again, it definitely is not easy, but it is something that I am passionate about.
#3: COMING UP WITH IDEAS
One of the most difficult challenges with daily blogging is coming up with a new topic to talk about each and every day. Think about it. If you were to write something every single day, how long do you think it would take before you start to run out of ideas? I know for me, I think I had a months worth of things to talk about. After the first month of blogging, it was about challenging myself to think, and challenging myself to look at life in a whole new perspective.
#4: AM I UNIQUE ENOUGH
When I first started blogging, part of me always struggled with the fact that people might not think that I am interesting enough.
What if people don’t like the things that I write?
What if people think I am weird?
What will my friends think if I tell them that I blog every day?
I mean, what guy blogs?
These were all questions that used to circulate through my head.
But in that struggle came the realization that this is my life and these are my dreams. Not everyone will like the things that I write. Most people probably will never think that I am normal, even if I don’t blog. And if my my friends are truly my friends, then they will support me regardless of what it is that I do. That is how we all have to see it. We are all unique individuals, and we all have a unique story to tell, so don’t be afraid to tell it.
#5: WHAT IF I FAIL
Yep, this was the biggest fear/struggle that I faced. When I said that I was going to blog daily for one full year, I was honestly not expecting to even make it through one month. I thought that within that first month, I would miss or forget to blog for one day, and then would just give up. That kind of attitude had always been normal for me.
Well, if you don’t want to experience failure, then don’t let failure determine your outcome. There will be days where you are going to experience setbacks, and there will be days where life is going to either slap you across the face, or knock you down. What do you do then? You get right back up and keep trying. The only time that we will ever fail in life is when we give up on ourselves and quit trying. I don’t know about you, but that is something that I am not ready to experience.
What started out as a small dream has now turned into something that is a large part of my life. For me, this isn’t just a blog. This is a way for me to challenge myself, to do something that brings purpose to my life, and to show the world that no matter how big a dream might be, anything is possible.
Just like this is my one and only life, it is your one and only life as well. Don’t let the small things control how big you dream. Dream as big as your mind will allow you to. Believe in the amazing person that you are, live the extraordinary life that you were meant to live, and follow your dreams with everything that you have. You and I, we can do anything that we believe in. So let’s do this!
