Despite how you may be feeling, know that you are powerful, and that you have the ability to achieve any of the dreams that you desire. There is already an incredible amount of greatness that is bottled up inside of the person who you already are just waiting to be released. All you have to do is believe in yourself, have some faith, and follow your dreams.
I want to ask you something. What are you currently doing in your life? For the record, I am not judging, just simply asking. Is what you are currently doing leading to the life that you have always dreamed of living? Is what you are currently doing something that you see yourself doing for the rest of your life?
I mean, unless you have achieved all of your dreams, my guess is that you are wanting more. So why not find that more? Why not demand greatness from yourself, unleash your true and full potential, and turn all of your dreams into your reality? You, and only you have the power to demand greatness from yourself.
The thing is, we get so comfortable with our current position in life, to the point where we rarely reach our true potential because we fear taking any risks, and finding out what we are truly made of. Hey, I am not saying that this is just you. I am guilty of it as well. Fear is our body’s way of keeping us comfortable, and comfort is the enemy of progress.
There is something called The 40% Rule. This rule is used to help strengthen and build mental toughness in Navy SEAL’s. The rule states that when your mind is telling you to stop, when you are feeling exhausted, and when you feel like you can’t go any further, you are only actually reaching 40% of your full potential.
Now, I know that we aren’t all Navy SEAL’s, but let that sink in. When you run and feel like you can’t go any further, you are only at 40% of your potential. When you work and feel exhausted from all that you have accomplished, you are only at 40% of your potential. When you think that you can’t possibly believe in yourself anymore than you already do, you are only at 40% of your potential.
We sometimes hear these stories of people doing superhuman things when their adrenaline kicks in. Maybe you have even experienced this yourself. When you become angry, you all of a sudden gain a whole new level strength that you never knew you had. Almost as if you have suddenly become a superhero. When you panic, your human instincts can become sharper than they normally are, and you can hear the drop of a pin. These are a few examples of our true potential coming out in the times that we need it the most.
So why do I bring this up? Because the next time that you feel like giving up on yourself, and the next time that you feel like the going is getting too tough, I want you to realize that you are only at 40% of what you are actually capable of achieving. Yes, when you feel like you have reached the breaking point, you are only reach 40% of your potential.
Imagine the outcome if you gave 10% more effort. Imagine the outcome if you gave 20% more effort. You would be more productive, and more unstoppable than you have ever been in your life.
Well, don’t just imagine, live it. Don’t waste your life, don’t give up on yourself, and never stop believing in what you are capable of achieving. Dig deep, push yourself past your comfort zone, and hold nothing back. You were born to achieve great things, so demand greatness from yourself, and regret nothing.
