How to clear our minds of can’t

We all have dreams and ambitions in life. While some of us might have a clear image on what these dreams and ambitions are, there are some of us that need help in seeing our true potential. Our mindset and our beliefs are the only variables that stands between us achieving our dreams and seeing ourselves as failures. The more that we believe in ourselves, the more likely we are to achieve our dreams. The more that we doubt ourselves, the harder it is to see our potential and accomplish what we to in life. So what do we need to do to live a happy and successful life? We need to learn to clear our minds of can’t.

I get it, when we doubt ourselves, the last thing that we need is someone telling us to change. But it is true. I have been and still find myself in situations where I doubt myself. During these times, it is important to remember that we are the only ones who can control our outcomes. Henry Ford said it best, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t – you’re right.” Here are some ways that will help to clear our minds of the word can’t, and turn can’t into can.

  1. Focus on Positivity

Everything comes down to positivity. Is this a cliche answer? Maybe. But again, I believe that it is the truth, and I believe that positivity is the underlying factor to succeeding in life. When we focus our lives around being positive, the world around us becomes enjoyable to live in again. We no longer fear the challenges that come with everyday life, but rather, we embrace them. We let our motivation and our passion lead us, and we learn to believe in our true potential.

  1. Understand That You Have Control

I have said it time and time again. We, as individuals, are the only ones that can control our outcome. If we put everything that we have into pursuing our dreams and believe that we can achieve them, then we can and will make them a reality. When we hold ourselves back and say that we can’t do something in life, then our dreams will never come to fruition. That is why it is so important to clear our minds of can’t.

  1. Reinforce Positive Affirmations

There are many times when I still doubt my abilities and don’t think that I can achieve something. When I initially believe that I can’t do something, I will look in the mirror, stare at myself, and tell myself that I can. I will stand there and repeat the words “I can” until I actually believe that I can. Once we learn to reinforce our minds with affirmations, we can achieve whatever it is that we want.

  1. See Your Strength

Yeah, life can sometimes be difficult sometimes. You shouldn’t want it to be easy because nothing worth having ever comes easy. When we get overwhelmed in life, we need to remember everything that we have ever accomplished. No matter who you are, you have accomplished amazing things in life. Buying a car, graduating from school, having a kid, or even a job promotion. Give yourself some credit for what you have accomplished and what you are proud of. Look back at these accomplishments when you need motivation and remind yourself that you CAN!

Our outcome in life is completely and entirely our choice. Either we can go through life, be happy, and believe that we can overcome/do anything, or we can be miserable and doubt our abilities. Trust me, from a person who has experienced the highs and lows of both mindsets, being positive and believing in myself has made life a lot more enjoyable to live. I have rediscovered my true strengths and have reinforced the belief in myself that I can achieve anything. Together, you, I, and everyone in the world can clear our minds of can’t and turn it into can. Let’s go out there and live our best life everyday.
