It might seem logical to some and contradictory to others, but success is found by those who are willing to fail.
In looking at all of the individuals that we think to be as successful, they all have one similarity in common – they had to endure and overcome great obstacles to get where they are at in life.
I don’t just want to sit here and tell you that you need to be willing to fail. Instead, I want you to see the proof behind failure and why you need to be willing to fail.
Sure, you have greater odds of failing the more times you try something. But do you know what else you have? Greater odds of succeeding.
The more times you try, the more you are going to fail, and the more you are going to succeed. If you spend your life avoiding failure, you are simultaneously spending your life avoiding success.
I can’t tell you how much of my life I lived hiding from failure. I was so insecure about myself that experiencing any amount of failure would have completely shattered any amount of self-confidence that I had remaining. As a result, I became miserable. I was never happy, I never found the success that I envisioned for myself, and I never took any chances. Life became incredibly boring.
That’s what our fear of failure does. When we aren’t willing to fail, then we aren’t willing to take risks. If we aren’t willing to take risks, then we aren’t willing to grow into the person we want to become.
You don’t get what you want in life by playing it safe and waiting for good things to happen to you. You get what you want in life by going out there and working for the things that you want. Are you going to fail? Absolutely! But when you do, you just have to pick yourself right back up and keep moving forward because there is no other option.
Letting Your Fears Control You
The world is in, let’s just call is “pandemic mode” right now. There is so much uncertainty. People are becoming ill, families are losing loved ones, and nobody has any answers as to when life may go back to “normal.”
If you’re lucky, you have only lost your job or have been furloughed. While losing your job or being furloughed will cause even more uncertainty, at least you and your family are healthy. At least you still have a roof over your head. At least you get to hug your loved ones every night before you go to bed.
For those out there who haven’t been laid off, who are working remote, and who are healthy, you have won the lottery. Right now, there are so many individuals out there who would love to be in your position.
The point is, with all of this uncertainty, everybody is scared. People are giving up on everything that was once familiar to them just to play it safe. And no, I am not talking about safety when it comes to one’s health. I am talking about safety in chasing your goals and achieving your dreams.
Just because we have a pandemic on our hands doesn’t mean that we need to allow our fears to roll over into every area of our life. This is the time where the strong individuals will show their true strength and the weak individuals will fold like a hand of cards.
Now Is Your Chance To Fail
The reason why I never used to take chances on myself, was because I was scared of being judged by those around me. I didn’t want anybody to think of me as a failure or to see my weaknesses, so I never took chances on myself or really even tried.
If you are somebody who has the same mindset as I used to have, then there has never been a better opportunity to go out there and allow yourself to fail. Everybody is experiencing failure right now. If you have allowed your fear of judgment to stop you up to this point, then this is your green light to go!
Nobody is going to judge you for your failures when the vast majority of the world is failing. If you want to show what you’re truly made of and get people to pay attention to all that you’re capable of achieving, then you need to be willing to fail, even when times are hard. When you are willing to fail when nobody else isn’t, then you are going to succeed when nobody else will.
Success Could Be ONE Failure Away
When it comes to success, you never know when you are going to achieve it. Success could be one failure away, it could be hundreds of failures away, or it could be thousands of failures away, but unless you are willing to fail and at least give yourself the opportunity to succeed, you are simply never going to know.
Nobody wants to experience failure. People don’t make it their life long goal to experience as much failure as they possibly can. They want to succeed. But they also realize that in order to succeed, then they need to be willing to fail because that’s the only way to learn, to grow, and to find out what they are truly capable of achieving.
Before You Go
Listen up. Whatever it is that you want to achieve in your life, make it your mission to start building towards it today. Forget what others think, forget about the risks that you will have to take, and forget about the failure that you may endure.
Use this time of uncertainty to help you overcome your fears and to show the world what you are truly capable of achieving. This is your one chance at life, don’t allow your fears to consume it. Be willing to fail, because once you are willing to fail, only then are you willing to succeed.
