Sometimes we all just need a bit of extra motivation, and the easiest way to find that motivation is to look from within.

It might sound cliché when you hear people talking about positive thinking. While I’m not here to debate whether positive thinking is cliché or not, I do want to share with you the mental and physical benefits of thinking positively.

The benefits of positive thinking are a proven way to give you more confidence, improve your self-esteem, give you motivation, and generally put you in a better mood throughout the entirety of your day. Thinking of at least one positive thought every day can have significant benefits for you.

Even research shows that thinking positively can help to reduce the risk of various health-related conditions, like depression, anxiety, heart disease, and a variety of other stress-related disorders.

Positive thinking (thinking of positive thoughts every day) is more about focusing on the positives in your life and viewing your life as a whole through more optimistic eyes. Outside factors don’t control your visual – only your imagination does. You think the thoughts that pass through your mind, and you have the power to change those thoughts.

As incredible as positive thinking may sound, it makes one wonder why everybody wouldn’t do their best to enforce positive thinking in their life. Being somebody who was once in a similar position, I can say that when you are in a negative state of mind, you just don’t even think about it. Positive thoughts are the last thing you think about.

But in the case that you are ready to take control of your life and are tired of being stuck feeling the same miserable way every single day, I want to share with you some positive thoughts for your everyday motivation. Here are 8 positive thoughts for your everyday motivation.

8 Positive Thoughts for Your Everyday Motivation

1. Be thankful you get to see another day.

It all starts in the morning and the thoughts you think in the morning set the tone for the rest of the day.

Here are the facts – you woke up this morning. Not everybody did. Don’t think of it is as a depressing morality tale, just use it to remember that you have won and get to continue to receive the greatest gift life has to offer – life itself.

It’s so easy to get caught up on all of the negatives in the world and all that’s going wrong in our lives, but we always seem to miss the most obvious positive thing we have – the amazing gift of life itself. Without life, we simply have nothing, so take a deep breath, smile – even if it’s hard, and be happy with the fact that you are still alive.

2. You have endless opportunities.

Up until a few days ago, I didn’t know that those who make over $32,000 are in the top 1-perfect for wealthiest individuals in the world. If you make more than $32,000 per year, you are wealthier than the other 99% of the world’s population.

With this, you have endless opportunities at the tips of your fingers – opportunities that 99% of the world would love to have the opportunity to have. As down as you may be feeling now, at least you have the opportunity to live the life you desire to have.

3. Block out the judgment of others.

Some people are just flat out mean, but you can’t let them control your life. As challenging as it may be, focus on what makes you who you are. Focus on your strengths instead of your weaknesses. Focus on staying true to yourself because you are you, and that is your greatest strength.

No matter who you are and no matter what you do, there are always going to be people who don’t like you. Don’t try to conform to somebody else’s image for your life. If you are going to be disliked by others, at least be willing to be disliked for being the real you.

4. Don’t feel like you need to compare.

“Comparison is the thief of all joy.” – Theodore Roosevelt

Is it hard not to compare yourself to others? Absolutely! But at the end of the day, we all have envious thoughts, even those who we admire the most experience thoughts of envy.

But that doesn’t mean we should feel the need to compare ourselves. No matter what we do, we are never going to be just like others. Others are always going to be better at being a better version of themselves than you are of trying to mimic them. By spending your time and life being jealous, just simply start doing more of the things that make you happy and more of the things you are good at.

5. Stop judging others.

You will never be able to maintain positive thoughts if you are constantly judging those around you.

There just isn’t a need for it. Judgement is nothing more than negativity at its’ finest, and an attempt to help us feel better about our own personal insecurities. That’s why you never truly feel better about yourself when you spend your time and energy judging others.

You don’t like being judged for your differences, so why would it be okay or acceptable to do so to others?

In order to think positive thoughts for your everyday motivation, you must remain in a positive state of mind as frequently as possible. This is not done through judging others. This is done through loving yourself, loving those around you, and loving life for the amazing gift it is.

6. Failure is the first attempt at succeeding.

I never used to deal well with failure. I always saw failure as life’s way of saying I wasn’t good enough. That’s not what failure is, though. Failure is nothing more than our first attempt in learning. In order to learn and grow into the individuals we want to become, we need to embrace our failures.

Think about this for a moment. Reflect back to when you were a child just learning to ride a bike. When you first started, there’s no doubt you fell. Now, had you given up as a result of thinking failure is life’s way of telling you that you aren’t good enough, you wouldn’t be able to ride a bike today. But because you learned from your mistakes, you grew to the point where you can hop on a bike and pedal for miles if you so choose.

The point is, failing doesn’t make you a failure. Giving up and never giving yourself another attempt to fail is what will make you a failure.

7. Surround yourself with uplifting individuals.

Who we surround ourselves with matters. We are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time around. That means if we spend our time around 5 individuals who gossip, complain, and are miserable, we will surely become the 6th. If we spend our time around 5 others who are positive, happy, and who bring out the best in those around them, we will become the 6th.

To put it simply, spend your time around as many positive individuals as you possibly can. You will pick up on their habits, and you will start to focus on the good in life. It is one of the most effective and easiest things you can do to transform your mind to think more positively and to find more motivation to achieve all that you desire in life.

8. Trust and love.

Treat others how you want to be treated and treat yourself how you want others to treat you. There really isn’t anything else that needs to be said.

If you want to have more positive thoughts and more motivation to achieve the life of your dreams, spread happiness and joy into the lives of others. Touch as many lives as you possibly can in a positive manner, and this includes your own.

Before You Go

We all know that positive thoughts can be incredibly beneficial in giving us the motivation to make it through the day, but in modern life, it can be difficult to stay uplifted when the world around you seems determined to bring you down. Right now, we are all experiencing trying times, so right now, it’s more important than ever to prioritize positive thinking.

By following some of the tips in our guide above, you could harness the power of positive thinking and find yourself starting every day off on a good note. So, start thinking of positive thoughts every day and make them a priority, that is of course if you want to change your life for thee better!
